DIY Salvage 04 Prius/Lost in Texas (seeking repair advice)

I am seeking help in fixing my 04SlvgPrius. Inverter issues create a huge dilema because of the Prius design. Used Inverters can be purchased on Ebay,Slvge yards and so forth however; these come with no legit "warranty" or "testing" . Otherwise there are places outside the toyota dealer network of help. I am not promoting their business but if I live those respective states maybe would use them. Autobeyours/Indiana http://www.autobeyours.com
and
Re Involt/North Carolina.
http://www.re-involt.com
If anyone in N Texas aka DFW has similar business svcs please post. I have also reveal the following links which list inverter issues and costs

car-part.com is a site that searches tons of recyclers around the US. I recommend looking for parts there.

Good luck with your rebuild.

Hybrid Parts

Yea
thats a good site however the main battery and inverter(ICU/PCU) on used parts have same issues I already have. thanks

Well AUTOBEYOURS(Indiana) is capable to rebuild or refurbish 04Prius Slvg Inverter/Converter/HSD aka ICU.
If say for example bought off ebay or salavage parts yard you still need to test/teardown/install/toyota tool scan and remove glitches.cost $1000

Main Battery
Well RE INVOLT/(NorthCarolina) will test and refurb hybrid battery packs cost $1500

Texas Toyota parts dealer cost $5000 for new inverter aka ICU part and still have to pay for service. The main battery they will send off or test the cells. However both these are not under any warranty for my 04 Slvg Prius. Master Techs/ EV certified must be present for inverter reinstall per Toyota cost for main battery $3000

Are you rebuilding a wrecked car or just repairing a problem with the battery and inverter? If repairing a problem, maybe give us some info on the problem and we can point you in the right direction.
Diagnostics at some facilities is basically hanging expensive parts until the car is fixed or the customer's wallet is dry. Most times it is the latter.

The Toyota dealer network (local) and Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle PHEV(out of state/Indiana) are the current alternatives for Inverter(sales/repair/test/svc).
The 04Slvg Prius has no cosmetic damage however undercarriage has not been viewed yet. The salvage yard aka copart auction listed the vehcile for Allstate Insurance which inturn listed for third party. Allstate inspection stated BAD INVERTER/BAD INJECTOR.

I understand you wanting to get an idea on prices prior to buying. We do the same thing, but it is very rare for the damage represented to be the actual problem with the car. If the problem is the inverter, I would buy it off of car-part.com and get one that has a 90 day or more warranty to protect your interest or the repaired one from Autobeyours if they have a warranty.
The warranty is almost always reflective of the sellers confidence level in the quality of the part.
Good Luck and BTW, Re-Involt is in North Carolina

Correct me if I wrong
I notice DAOX is doing a conversion. Someone here with NTEAA(NTexasElectric) is starting one too on a 02 Slv Prius.

Just curious which resources may have been used

Ebay LiPO /Troy Mich 2Kw kit
Enginer
Hybrid Interface
Plug In Supply
PlugInConvCorp aka PICC

I have pulled the cover off my inverter but kinda scared to pull from vehicle without a scan tool or reasonable costed replacement inverter.

Will this car start and run?
I would not recommend replacing any parts without at least getting the trouble codes first. You would basically be making matters worse by replacing a part that could be good with one that could possibly be bad.
Get a scan tool or find a buddy that owns one and get the codes.
There are several of us on this forum that are Prius specialists and we are willing to help you get your car repaired right with the minimal cost.

BTW, Enginer is the only company making a PHEV kit for the Gen1 Prius.

"Will this car start and run?"
Please define your meaning and understanding of "start"
The aux battery went dead but I have since recharged battery, I can get dashboard with warning indications. I only have OBD2reader which with several trials gives linking error message. The fluid reservoir for the Inverter is empty and antifreeze reservoir empty too.
What scan tool do you suggest.

I am kinda scared to run or drive vehicle!!

runs and starts but have error and dtc codes of P1150 and hv block
