...unfortunately, the new 1-to-11 is the exactly same "span" as the old 0-to-10, ha,ha.

...having worked on and played many, many different amplifiers since 1959, yes, I'm well aware of the Marshall 0-11 numberings, but the underlying potentiometers still only traverse 270-degrees of physical rotation (ha,ha)...exactly the same rotation as any other 0-10 labelled Fender, Gibson, Sunn, Plush, Kustom, etc. amps do.

Why have it go up to just 11 when Maxim's DS1802 goes up to 64?

...why, indeed? The answer lies in digital VOL control numbers (1,2,4,8,16,32,64..., etc.) versus mechanical VOL rotation, probably.
