I saved a copy to HDD...I really liked all the references back to actual vehicles...and, this equation estimating "dyno" RLHP at 50 mph:

HP ≈ 0.253*(WT)^(0.456)

actual

Yeah, and we get vehicle weight, how they did the rolling resistance, frontal areas, and drag coefficients to play with and compare to other sources if available.

I tried to search on 'VW' and 'Volkswagen' but the page started jumping up and down and then a pop-up asked if I wanted to answer a survey, so I closed the page.

Wow! That took some dedication to put that all together.I'll bet that Rick is very appreciative of his 'network' for the data.I'd be pleased if my work was gonna help a bunch of gearheads with their projects.Good goin'!

EPA Cds

I went over the entire paper Sunday.I'm glad for the frontal areas,as they were provided by the manufacturers.
The actual road loads were given from EPA coastdown testing and seem realistic.
Some of the Cds I've never had,but of the ones I do have, compared to the EPA estimated Cds,the EPA's are high.
An example would be Corvette, which EPA assigns Cd 0.70,vs Cd 0.50,from GM.
As time permits,I'll do more comparisons.
