Yeah, that's how I make a living. No thanks! Lol

Methinks that a driverless truck is very hijackable.

Politicians go on about Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! when campaigning. After everything is automated they'll have to come up with a new shtick. Ummm... Leisure! Leisure! Leisure!

Roads?! Where we're going we don't need roads!
As if semis on the road did not already get annoying! You can drive a semi 825 miles in eleven hours if you maintain 75 MPH (good luck!). A driverless semi can go 855 miles in nineteen hours maintaining 45 MPH. |
Here in uk this summer they are running trials of driverless lorries. One maned lorry at front of convoy. Gov has been told this will not work on our motorway network due to lack of junctions to join and leave. Ummm soon find out whos right.

Not going to happen in our lifetime. Especially in the U.S. Just saying.

Are semis more fuel-efficient at 45 MPH? I looked around on-line and everything talked about 55 or 65 MPH, but I felt that was at least partially because everyone drove faster. I would not expect what I know about cars to correlate 100% with trucks with trailers, but don't engines become more efficient with higher load, although that is overcome by friction above 55 MPH?
