E Tuk

Pretty massive3-wheeler. has a gas motor but I don't think it runs. looks like it wa a taxi before. Saw it on Craigslist and tracked it down to Habitat for Humanity Resale Shop in Santa Cruz. Not bad, but $2000. not running is steep!

$2k is insane. With a non-running motor and ALL THAT RUST, it'd be a hard sell at $500...

Odd that 4 photos will not load. A paper is on the front saying the reddish/brown is paint, this was a hybrid but the electric motor and pedals were removed to put in a scooter motor and floorboard. It does have many new shiny silver bearings. Built in Pasadena at an art school, so that egg shape is right where is should be to look even. If it ran it would probably be a step above those European Aerotaxis.

Some of it does look like paint, but the concentration and location of the rough looking patches still looks suspiciously rust-like .

I have seen some impressive paint jobs simulating rust, maybe it's the case there. Anyway, it's interesting to say the least but I wouldn't blow $2000 away on it...

Last thing I need is another project! That E tuk had a lot of expensive parts like new tires on beefy rims, motor/transmission, but my project cost me thousands of dollars and I sold it for $60.00. This E tuk might do the same; sell foe pennies. Taxi insurance would be outrageous, but this is Bike Week here. I guess it could be seen as a bike - interesting, but doesn't make financial sense to me.

All it needs is a new frame...and motorcycle brakes, those MTB brakes do not instill much confidence.
