Don't buy nashbar brand products...

Nashbar's fine...I love nashbar, but their house brand products kinda really suck.

The first I ever bought was a bike computer that was broken, and the second, just now, was a set of their titanium road pedals, which have a horrible click in them. You'd think you could do better on a pedal that retails for $130, but whatever...

Anyway, nashbar is great, just not their products,

Ah, the perils of off-brand stuff. That's totally YMMV since they just nab whatever they can get from whatever distributor and slap their name on it. I got some clipless pedals and a cheap tool kit from them and so far they've been cheap but not too bad. Spam 'em on review sites so people know to stay away, but some of their stuff may be o.k. to so it's just one of those things you find out as ya go.

yeah, their pedals are re-badged wellgo's (I think) not the best stuff for sure.

But their brake kits, levers and such are re-badged tektro. Pretty decent for the most part, a little heavy, but they're definitely tough.

YMMV and all that.

See, I have some $20 wellgo pedals that are fine...you'd think a $130 dollar set of pedals would at least not have a horrible click to them! I went ahead and ordered some ultegra pedals for about the same price (coulda gotten dura ace for only a bit more but I don't want to head down that road of having all DA on my bike)

If I want "goin' around the block" stuff, then nashbar brand is a good value. But if you want the good stuff, then you've got to buy the good stuff. A fiberglass body on an old beeetle chasis isn't going to be the same as the ferrari.
