Ecomodder Members! What is your age?
Me and DirtyDave were texting back and forth a few days ago. He asked me how old I was and I told him. I knew he was around my age, so I asked back if there were any others around our age. All we could come up with were 3 that were around our age.
It got me to thinking... what is Ecomodder's age demographic like? What age group is most involved in this site and using the information compiled? Even bigger question: Is Ecomodder reaching the younger generation that says they are "green"? I'd like for everyone to respond in the poll so we can see how it stacks up. You can leave your age/age range in a comment if you fell like it, no pressure in doing so :) I'll start this show: I'm 23 |
I'm 51.
When I was 23 my main means of transportation was a bicycle... I'm way less green now ;) |
When I was 23, gas was 35 cents a gallon and I used 100 gallons a week, at my worst, for 16 weeks. Down to about 5 gallons a week now. I made $13.5k that year, equivalent to close to $100k today
I'll be 65 11/22/2015. regards mech |
50 but 51 end of Nov.
**edit** i came here 5 years ago, before i bought the jetta. came across the site during an internet search. i am just as interested now as i was then to the amazing mods done here. |
Damn... that's a nice bell curve :)
45 in Sep |
AFAIK I'm the youngest eco-modder. I'm 22.
|
I'll be 53 next week.
I grew up in the late 70's, a time when pretty much everybody had a big block under the hood and gas was under a buck. Times do change! |
24.5 on June 30th. I don't like my birthday being Dec 30th, so I celebrate my half birthday now. June 30th.
|
I'm 24. I started driving with a. 89^ volvo 740 turbo back in 07-08
gas was $4.00+ a gallon had two jobs to pay for fuel and quickly learned I had better things to buy with my money. what a horrible time to start driving lol |
Nobody under 9? What gives?
I'm 33. Old enough to remember when gas was under $1.00/gallon, for one week of my senior year in high school. |
Age 19 here!!!!
|
20 something. When I could buy a gun, I stopped counting. 25? 26? Something like that.
|
27 with 29 years experience. Or as I sometimes say "forty-sixteen". :)
I was "forty-ten" when I joined. |
67 here
|
Do any of you ever miss Hydrojimbo?
Thirty-six. I think that the least that I ever paid was $0.899 in 2,000 or so. I tried to figure out how to get the best mileage out of my Prelude fifteen years ago. We thought gas was expensive back then. A coworker had a Metro and a guy there said that he finally calculated his mileage and figured out where his money was going--he got 8 MPG in his big old truck and lived fairly far from that part-time job. We had a good laugh. |
How old you were when you decided to come here is relevant, too.
38 when I joined, 42 now. |
Almost 38 now. Joined at 32, but I've been interested in fuel economy since my early 20s.
|
I'm 31
|
It is great to see the distribution of ages in the poll! Over 34% reported are under 30, which is a great demographic to have involved.
If only more people would respond... This is only around 5% of active members, so it is not a good sample size for statistical purposes :o |
We just need to keep it active :)
|
49 for a little while.
|
47. Mrs A is 54 in July and A Junior just turned 14.
I suspect the response rate will correlate with how many people join forums or monitor them regularly ? |
I just turned 17, senior in high school and I've been interested in green energy and efficiency since I was a freshman and discovered what biodiesel was.
|
I'm 31 (just barely lol). I've been considered "frugal" for at least ten years. I've been actively honing my driving skills for a good six to seven years. So, I guess you could say I started being mindful of my spending around the age of 25'ish.
|
24, joined when I was 17. Why pay more than you have to to get from point A to point B?
