Ecomodder is starting new trend

Here is a 2500 hp Camaro that runs 263 mph! And....

That's a lawn edging air dam! Someone's been reading Ecomodder, ;) ha ha

Smooth wheel covers too, man that's a cool car.

:) Lol, I kind of doubt that they learned about aerodynamics here on Ecomodder. But it's a nice thought!!

I was reading someone's build thread on a forum for Honda CRXs. I discovered a CRX that has been built to race. And the lady driver/owner has been breaking records. What was extra fun, was it had a lot of typical ecomods. Including a nose cone! :)
There's a good article about her and her CRX here: 1990 Honda CRX SiR

Hey I can dream can't I, :p.

It's cool to see how many race vehicles use aero mods. A lot of the fastest drag cars in the world often have boat-tail like extensions on the back of the car, and always a type of bonneville spoiler when there's parachutes, and almost always grill blocks. It gives some extra support when the fastest, most successful vehicles in the world try to reduce drag the same ways that we do. Must be doing something right.

Well, different end result and goals, but same concepts. :) You can go faster, if it's easier to get through the air. And you can use less energy going through that air, if it's easier to do so.

Making a ecomodded car look more so like a race car would be fun. :)
That CRX SiR racing car is an inspiration for my future CRX. I really like the look. ;)

Yeah that CRX is wicked, I like it! The rear diffuser really seals the race car look for me.

Nice.

I never understood why race cars never utilized even more aeromods. I've never seen one with rear wheel skirts

when dealing with speeds like that, i wouldn't worry about cD/frontal area so much as removing all possible sources of upforce. then you can make the tradeoff between better cD and downforce as needed.

I fully agree with you, like that CRX posted, that car would do wonders with a tail extension, with the parachute relocated farther back. I don't see any reason that car couldn't have rear wheel skirts. But the belly pan, diffuser and nose cone are beautiful.

Although I can see why in road racing that wheel skirts may not be worth the trouble when having to quickly change tires.

when you have lots of horsepower, little things to improve Cd. are not very important....i'm not saying it's not important at all but when you have a 600hp car and it can go 220mph, adding smooth wheel covers will maybe help it go 222 mph or so
