EM Garage questions

How do I delete cars out of my garage?

Mike 04-14-2008 03:36 PM

Actually, you cannot delete entries yourself but I will have MetroMPG PM you.

Thanks, he PM'd me and is taking care of it for me.

MetroMPG 04-14-2008 08:48 PM

Deleted.

Any possibility in activating the url or img tag in the fuel log's details section for posting maps?

MetroMPG 04-14-2008 10:13 PM

url and img BB tags work now.

Something still is not right, I can post a URL on the forum copy and paste that url and it won't work in the garage. Can't figure it out though.

Pretty sure I figured it out, the garage does not like the quote symbol (") it converts it to """. So if you could fix that some how I'd appreciate it.

BB code should work just fine - I just tested it out and it seemed to work for me.

(URL)www.google.ca(/url)

Just replace ( and ) with [ and ].

The tag I am trying to use is (url="http://google.com/")Google(/url), it's worked on other vBulletin based forums I've visited.

Mike 04-19-2008 03:39 PM

Yep, the garage isn't truely part of the forum software which is why there are some little kinks such as this.

Try (url=http://google.com/)Google(/url) instead of (url="http://google.com/")Google(/url). The quotes are not really necessary.

Your method allows for the title to show, but the link still just redirects to a default maps.google.com while if you do the same thing in the forum it works.

Mike 04-19-2008 04:42 PM

I see the problem. I didn't realize those links used ampersands and other characters that don't format well.

Here's a solution:

take your link (for instance http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,1.186523&z=10 ) and go to http://www.tinyurl.com.

Now, you can create a smaller more browser friendly link such as: http://tinyurl.com/4xcwgw.

Tiny URL works beautifully.

Regarding the garage and the logs: When reviewing the Fuel log and Trip log, the Fuel log lists entries newest first, whereas the Trip log lists entries as oldest first.

Shouldn't they sort in the same order, I'd prefer newest first?
