Engine compartment air output?

I've read various posts that describe the cold air in the engine compartment as a problem? Cold air entering through the front grill into the engine area has to exit in some way? Posts suggest that the air goes down and under the car causing an aerodynamic problem? Would hood louvers allow the air to escape without creating other problems? Maybe a radiator hood on the back of the radiator? Reroute the incoming air that passes through the radiator to another controlled path?

Any thoughts?

people put louvers in hoods , usually as a method the shed engine heat
if you choose to do such and wish to vent the engine compartment in such a manner be sure and chose a location with negative pressure instead of positive pressure
there will be areas of both positive and negative pressure found around the front of a vehicle ..i think

how to determine pressure around the front of the vehicle on hood and sides in various locations ?
