Eoc
I want to install a fuel injector kill switch on my Kia Soul so i can EOC, however i am quite clueless when it comes to electrical things, what schematics do i need?
|
Try a Haynes or Chilton manual. They usually have most of the things you need.
Mine show all the wiring and even the wire colors. |
Where are you planning to install? Inside the car at the ECU (in which case you'd need an ECU pinout diagram) or at the injectors under the hood (in which case you just need to figure out where they care and bypass them individually with a switch).

well all the wires run to behind the glove box, so i was hoping to intercept it there and put in a normally closed relay switch and then run a micro switch or something like that out to near the shifter knob.

I went looking for some diagrams and this is what I found:

Location of what to snip? I am wanting to do something similar to what Niner did: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...-xa-14767.html Thanks! |
I would suggest try interrupting lead 2 on the CKPS or the CMPS signal (K80 or K82) and see if it dies cleanly with one or both of those opened (i.e. with a normally closed microswitch on the shifter like you suggested). My crankshaft sensor was easier to locate and tap into on the engine block end fyi.

Hm, on Toyota vehicles, all those "to main relay" lines go back to a single line that goes to the keyswitch. On yours, I'm guessing they don't enter the engine cabin again, but go over to your engine bay relay box. If you can track them back (and they go to a single wire) that would be a good place to interrupt all 4 at once. Otherwise, you could also put 4 relays in on the 4 lines that go to the injectors from the ECU (pins 25-28) and kill them all at once.

Niner, we think alike. That was what I was going to have my brother look into. If he can find a spot where thee join that is where it will be interrupted. I am not sure about the four relays, but it might work.

On my 2000 Suzuki Swift, I tapped into the underside of the FI fuse under the hood. Standard Tab terminals fit right on. I used a relay to switch the power wire coming out of the fuse. I mounted a button right on my shift knob. I dont have a working camera or i would get some pics. :(
