EPA rates Mazda as most efficient manufacturer of 2013...

Hyundai ranks as most fuel-efficient U.S. automaker for 2013 — but the EPA won’t say so!

...even though Hyundai beats them.

Can you say, "...Gooberment doesn't "TRUST" Hyundai's numbers?..." Sure you can!

Weight -- Pigs may fly, but their MPG are terrible (wink, wink). Give me "lean" bacon, please.

That's because they were busted for cheating on the Real World Scores* used in the EPA fueleconomy numbers. They still have the best CAFE scores, which is what matters.

darcane - thanks for posting that.

This week I saw many reports about Mazda's "win", but nothing about Hyundai missing out because of the "open/pending investigation" against them from earlier this year.

I got notice that I could participate in the fuel payback from Hyundai, but didn't since I exceed the EPA #'s by a fair amount.

What? You didn't want to "...profit from their mistake(s)..."?

Didn't seem right to profit from Hyundai due to ignorance of the ones that buy /drive Hyundai cars. It's obviously not Hyundai's fault.

Huh? Hyundai admitted the inflated EPA ratings on multiple vehicles was their own "mistake". The only question is how much of a "mistake" it was.

I would have no qualms taking their money.

Still didn't seem right regardless of the 'mistake' considering my current % over EPA rating.

wow, few people would say no to free money.

just recently I got my cheque from a class action lawsuit I was part regarding fees on a car rental. $18 was what I got. not much, but I supposed it paid for a case of beer.
