Error disconnecting battery hardware
2 Attachment(s)
While taking apart the hardware that connects my bikes 42 volt lithium battery, I made a mistake that allowed the live positive and negative wires directly connected to the battery to touch momentarily two or three times. I stupidly almost shocked myself. I didn't notice how the lines could still touch. It blackened parts of a bolt, cut a small thin washer, and made sparks.
Did I just ruin my battery? https://ecomodder.com/forum/attachme...1&d=1539658456 https://ecomodder.com/forum/attachme...1&d=1539658472 |
It's likely still fine looks like the insulation on the wires didn't even get close to melting. Lithium ion batteries are fairly tough. If it's a LiFePO4 it's really tough, until it gets cold.

Yeah, I'd say you're probably still fine. Heat is a battery's enemy. Looks like all the heat went into your connectors.
