EV battery problem arises - again.
This time it was an unexpected news source:
The International Forecaster | Electric Vehicles International Forecaster Weekly Should I cringe that my electric scooter is doomed? ;) |
Lithium is extracted from brine. And most metals used in EV batteries are extracted along with other metals extracted for other use. Plus, I don't really care, as man has been raping the planet for years and will continue to do so regardless of my choices.

That's why you use lead acid batteries when possible like for stationary applications. Lead acid batteries come from old lead acid batteries. Lead acid batteries are the most recycled item on earth by unit weight and in over all numbers.

most of the lithium "mines" are open pit evaporation lakes out on an old playa / dry lakebed. the anodes and cathodes are mostly common materials, with weird etchings. possibly the only things not recyclable are the pouches and seperator materials made from oil stocks.
so I fail to see the point. |
