Whoa...Whoa...WHOA!

My E-Pod batteries are failing I think. According to the shop where I bought all 3, I have exceeded their life expectancy. They cut out often, but it never stayed on with the throttle off. I let off the throttle nearing a corner but it accelerated. Scary corner!!

For a minute; I thought I may have some Toyota ancestry in there .

I never had batteries do that but according to the battery distributor when a battery gets under a certain voltage the controller can not handle it. I have disc brakes on all 3 wheels, but in a corner like that would probably flip the velo or run into something. What a way to learn!

What are Epods anyway? Not having looked

Anyway I would make sure to install a master contactor, my master contactor shuts off power to the motor when my foot isn't on the pedal, making it completely impossible for the controller to fail closed circuit (which is very common)

Cheers
Ryan

Pod was a kit sold by Easy Racers in 2004, a fiberglass/kevlar"shell" or "body". They sold two in 2004 (one is in my avatar) so by 2005 they dropped the kit.

In 2007 I motorised it- 'E' for 'electric' making a former recumbent trike a one-of-a-kind*E-Pod. The batteries conked out today, so I bought 3 new batteries.

The City-EL sold, so I hope the E-Pod can take over- I removed the top, now all I have to do is paint it bright yellow !
