Exhaust turbine with electric generator

Hello people

I come from switzerland. Sorry my english is not so good.

I have a Idea, but this Idea is not new.

At the end of the muffler, we fix a exhaust turbine with a electric generator.
The generator charge a battery.

So we thus use the exhaust energy.

10-20% better efficiency?

Instead of a exhaust turbine, one could uses a little roots-charger as exhaust turbine?

In order to get power out of the exhaust there must be a pressure/temperature drop between the two sides of the generator (be it a turbine or roots type charger). I would stick to a turbo type setup since it is designed to do what you want. A roots type charger really is not designed to take power out of something, its only designed as a compressor. I am assuming you mean a roots charger like this: Roots-type supercharger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know the roots-charger. A roots-charger is only a pump, and a pump can also drive a generator. A exhaust turbine is relatively expensive and not very insensitive. So my idea a roots-charger instead a exhaust turbine.

This engine uses also the exhaust energy.

The 5-stroke petrol engine so good as a diesel engine.
This engine uses the exhaust energy with a bigger piston.
The piston is greater than a larger force acting on the piston.

My idea is without piston, but with exhaust turbine or a exhaust-pump.
In the exhaust gases is still a lot of energy.
