Johnson Controls Batteries

Hey all,

I am in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.

Johnson Controls is a Milwaukee-based company that works in building controls and energy systems.

They have a battery division which is working on all sorts of the latest types of batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles.

I have been told that it is possible to get "loaner" batteries from them for real-world testing in electric vehicles.

I figure getting a sponsorship or free batteries is worth a shot, so I filled out a form on their web page saying that I am an electric vehicle builder willing to test batteries for them.

I hadn't realized it until looking through their web page, but Optima is a wholly owned brand of Johnson Controls!

I use Optima Yellow Tops in my electric motorcycle and also have a Johnson Controls brand deep-cycle battery for my camper.

If anything comes from contacting them, I will make sure to post it on the forum!!!!!

Good luck!

I think I read recently that Johnson Controls is the biggest manufacturer of batteries for automotive use.
