Feeler: 1992 Civic VX w/ AC
Dear Ecomodders:
I have a: 1992, STOCK/ UNMODIFIED, Red Civic VX, A/C blows cold, with approximately 198,xxx miles. The car just had a full tune up and runs very well!! The body has some minor dings and the driver seat has a tear. Right now I am wondering how much I can sell this car for. Do any of you have an idea? Your input is most appreciate! (I might be looking to sell this by the end of August 2012) |

Any input is appreciated =) |
Blue book value is around $1,600 and they sell on Ebay for around $2,000 to $5,000 depending on condition.

Assuming it doesn't have any scary accidents in it's history, up here that car would be worth $2200-$2700. That exact car except with 108k miles was just listed for $3500 and sold here for close to it a few weeks ago. So if you double the mileage, I would think the pricing correction would be $500-$1000 depending on just how nice the rest of the car was, any available service history, and just how uncommon they are in your neck of the woods. Just my 2 cents but I hope that helps :snail:

The EG chassis is impossible to find un molested or daily driven into the ground. These prices mentioned are senseless. 4500 bucks with clean title decent paint and 7 outta ten interior.

that last white one Isnt even worth owning. I read that their was only 60 thousand of them made and those three look like there on the way out. mine has no rust, has 153 thousand, 140 when I bought it and is perfect. good luck buying one of those, then finding parts for it because they all need it.

They were only sold in Canada for 2 years, '92 and '93. The one for $2200 has 164k Miles, it's the only one I'd buy. The rest are junk, but it just goes to show these things are out there. Any old car is only worth one amount - whatever someone will pay for it. And sure enough when you go to sell something, the people that say "Wow that thing sure is rare, it's worth a lot!" are always the ones that don't have any money. Luckily for most of us on this board, the kinds of cars we see as rare are generally not too well known to the general public. We see a VX and get excited that it has stock wheels, where as pretty much anyone else looking at a 20 year old Honda will be like "Aww, it's not an automatic" or "What, no CD player??" This will change the next time gas prices spike, then you start seeing 3 cylinder Metros for big money on ebay, just like last time. But now is the time to buy them, when gas prices aren't the first thing on everyones mind. Hell, both of my Insights got traded in at dealerships on new cars - again, we see them as a rare car, but the people that own them might not, to them its just a weird old Honda ha ha
