These guys need to join the 21st century. Arduino stabilizers control tiny flying hobby drone helicopeters and other toys, for cheap.
This bike needs full enclosed fairing, gyro stabilized trainer wheels for stoplights, and to have its muffler put back on. I think Ecomobile motorcycle in Switzerland did that about 25 years ago, based on the same BMW K-bike drivetrain. I'm sure it does better than 80 mpg. |
I would blame them more for the stratospheric lenght rather than lack of technology ...

Aren't there minimum seat height laws? They say it is street legal but I think the seat is too low.

It's been done before, and it was done better.

You are correct.. There is a minimum seat height limit here in California, I forget the exact number but somewhere around 27in. I'll have to look it up later.. Gil |
Race car constructor, team owner, racer and self-taught aerodynamicist/wing designer, Dan Gurney, created butt-low sold-out 36 production models collector/museum pieces. Alligator Motorcycle | Dan Gurney's All American Racers

Looks a much better design to me ...
That is still too much engine for decent FE but at least the driver is no longer a parachute ... |
In my opinion Gurney has been one of the few to get this one right. By putting the seat behind the engine where it would normally be his bikes are no longer than a typical harley. All these people addind passenger cabins to the front of motorcycles are coming away with vehicles with longer wheelbases than most cars. That is not very good for any kind of city driving.

Section 347.486 applies to "ape hanger" handlebars so as to prevent their use since they are either considered unsafe or as a method to control the biker organizations that advocate their use. These styles tend to preclude clotheslining the rider.
