Festiva Aero mods
Decided I would give some aero mods a go. So i went with the airdam idea and half blocked upper and lower grills.
I have no results yet as they have just been fitted. This is before shot http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...3/P2240240.jpg grill blocks http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...3/P2270243.jpg airdam on, grill blocks painted http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...3/P2280246.jpg showing hows its shaped to direct air around the tyres http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...3/P2280249.jpg |
Ahaha yes! I love these cars. Looks like good work - I would focus more on getting the air to join back together more gracefully at the rear if I were you, but deflecting more air to the sides is always a good thing especially if you have moon discs or wheel skirts. Welcome to EM and keep up the festiva fiesta!

Yes a rear kammback would really help, may be some rear wheel skirts too.
|
Looking good and great start! Welcome to EM! Hope you get more inspiration the longer you're here.

I was actually looking at Festiva's before buying another high mpg car several years later.
My wife kept wondering why I was staring at the small parked cars in the restaurant parking lot while we were making our way inside. Looking forward to your progress!! Jim. |
hmm interesting- I might have to try this with my 91' lexus
|
Sweet! I'm in to see your gains to an already economical car.
|
ok so i got some better fuel economy results but i ended up doing more freeway driving than my previous fuel logs.
so there most likely is a benifit , just not as much as the results show which is nearly 11% ( i highly doubt) EDIT 11% might be close actually because its 2 aero mods i done. problem with carby cars cant get precise data. but a gain is a gain :) updated my fuel log. |
nicely done.
i have a question though. wouldnt you benefit more by actually blocking the grills in front rather than behind the entrances? i would think that the air is still not flowing very smoothly over those surfaces? anyways i would like to hear any updates. |
Here was my upper block. Note the Aussie Capri :p
