fiberglass question, mix ratio's
 

If i didnt quite get my resin to hardener ratio just right, will it just take longer to cure?

Assuming you put in too little hardener, basically, yes. Cure time is also pretty temperature dependent.

Yeah, it turned out all good, I was just concerned..
Its a new material to work with, very little experience..

this mite make ya laugh, I sat it on my truck to dry and so it wouldn't warp..
It was windy last night, now I have little flowers embedded into the resin :D

Polyester, and Nylon resins are very forgiving in how you mix them, more hardener will make it work faster, less will make it cure slower, a slow cure tends to have less stress in it so it's stronger, 2-3 hours I normally mix my resin so it cures in 2-3 hours, if it's taking to long I'll set it in a warmer area and that will speed it up as well, I also sometimes use a heating pad like is designed for sore muscles.
If you are using an epoxy resin you want to be more picky about your mix ratios, but most epoxy that I have worked with is either a 50/50 mix, or a 2 to 1 mix.
with the flowers, you should be able to sand them off, if you are doing another layer sanding it with some 80 or 100 grit sand paper can make the next layer stick better as well, it gives it some texture to grab in to.

It setup great..

turns out that the 1/8" thick ply sagged in the sections between the frame work from the resin soaking in really good, so I'm going to temporarely brace that and by adding additional framing underneath for support (temporally) that way the next layer will setup and hold its shape, should be good, ya think?
Thats all I could come up with and I've only done one layer..

the flowers just dusted off, a few stuck around, no biggie..
I'll knock those off later..
