Coroplast durability
For those of you with Coroplast grill blocks and belly pans... how long does it last?
I'm thinking of doing a few aeromods, but I don't want them falling apart after a couple years. I can't see Coroplast holding up too well in constant vibration, dust, dirt, wind, etc.

How long does your oil last? Tires? Belts? If it works, and it's cheap, just think of it as one more thing that you have to replace once in awhile.
Just don't ask the guys at Jiffy Lube to do it...

I've never had it fail in normal service. I used it for a sign once where it bent a lot with every gust of wind, and it lasted two years, failing just along the crease. Once, I built a whole velomobile body from carefully reinforced light-gauge Coroplast. It was only 15 lbs for a rather large shell, as these things go. I planned it to fail gradually, and separate into parts that could be re-glued. The customer rolled it into a grassy ditch with no damage at all. A folded edge will often be more rugged than a frame and fasteners.

The paint came off in some spots on my grill block (to be expected) but the grill block is still going strong after three years. The under pan is still going strong after three years as well. All this in MN weather as well. So Coroplast will last!

I took the plunge and bought three 4x8 sheets of black coroplast today. $16 ea.

I plan on using Coroplast for the body panels on my reverse trike project, if I ever get to it.
It's much lighter/cheaper/easier to work with than aluminum sheet or body metal, and I can probably get most of it recycled, as opposed to body/aluminum sheet.
The only place I'll use actual metal is if I need the rigidity, like the nose cone, trunk boxes, etc.
