Finally joined the 50mpg club
'97 Geo metro - zero mods except for the nut behind the wheel...
previous personal best was 49.9.. close, but offically not there. Today I hit 53.8 <55mph, + EOffC This next tank will be the same speed, but engine on, to see what kind of difference it makes. My commute is rather hilly, not much P&G oppurtunity. But I take full advantage of my hills. |
Congrats! Hills are great for pulse up, glide down, but maybe that's what you mean by EoffC (on the way down). Of course whether you can do it depends on traffic, grade, etc.
Got any fuel economy instrumentation? That'll boost you into an even higher orbit. |
No Instruments yet.
I plan on getting a scangauge when the budget permits. After reading the results of the Alternator off gain, I think I may put in a relay to controll the alternator from the inside with a digital volt meter. I can charge at home, and at work. |
Congrats! Now aiming for 60 mpg?
|
Aye.
That might not possible until fall, With ST. Louis temp and humidity through aug, AC is a must! That 53.8 was with AC on about 1/2 the time |
My hats off to you.
I couldn't break 50 until I ran with A/C off for many weeks I understand your desire for humidity control It would be easier if the water wasn't visible in the air. CONGRATS, Schultz |
