finaly first 50+mpg tank and 500 mile tank
After plateauing at 45ish mpg for a while come spring the tire wear on the car went through the roof. A combination of driving the civic full time, the ice off the roads causing extreme wear on the front tires meant that the alignment issues needed resolved. The A arms were extremely worn. After being replaced I could tell immediately that my coasts were longer, less throttle to accelerate and hold speed. the first tank after the A arms replaced has born this out. I know it is only one tank so far but I expect the trend to continue due to it's correlation with fixing the alignment issues.

Congrats!
What are all your mods? I'm shooting for 45mpg in my 98 ex coupe. |
I imagine your mpgs are pretty lousy in the dead of winter. Or do you drive something with a bit more ground clearance in winter?

Mods are front grill block, opened up a little right now for cooling. A kill switch and bike shifter hand throttle mounted on the gear shifter, and an MPGuino.
I drive the same rig in the winter. So an airdam is not a likely mod for me. this last winter I seemed to get 40-45mpg all winter long. With the alignment issue a cold week with no new snow but a good layer of ice let the alignment slip a bit and I ended up with a 48mpg tank. EOC is a chilly thing when the temp is down. so far over 350 miles into this tank and mileage looks like it will be better than the previous. could be a trend here real quick. |
Good stuff -- you should do well with warmer weather.
