Question Insight 1gen @ Speedweek Impound

So, who's been at Speedweek and managed to get their first gen Insight in the Impound lot (= potential new record, right ? )

I heard that Arcimoto cancelled, but I wasn't there to be disappointed.

At ?t=257 a VW flat four feeding a Powerglide and (prolly) Ford 9" rear.

At ?t=282 An open wheel car with blisters and airfoiled axle and drag link.

Overall a good introductory video to the alien world of the Salt Flats.

Nice video. I taught my daughter to drive on those flats when she was 10 years old. Itwas at the 2012 "World of Speed" event. Met Phil Knox there.

Electrics begin 7:57 and are fabulous. Time marches on.

I will rebuild Black and Green over decades as parts die, until it becomes a different car of roughly the same shape and color. My minimum fuel economy goal is 55 mpg while averaging posted speed limits. I generally top 60 mpg. See also my Honda manual transmission specs thread.
