First Drive: 2009 Jetta TDI Auto - 39.3 MPG
The day when I can say "for a new car it's not that bad" hasn't come yet, but...
For a new car, not that bad. The first 5 mile or so trip ending up netting decent economy, without being used to the car or really trying, though I wish I'd been a bit more specific about the manual transmission. O well, I should be able to easily turn up much better numbers. :turtle::thumbup: |
Got 43 mpg on the round trip to the Honda dealership,
|
is that the tiptronic double clutch (DSG) box of tricks transmission or the full auto??
|
DSG it is
|
luv'em !!!
they are worth a few MPG if used like an MT - good pick |
So far I have found the mileage frustratingly poor, but I will try to use the manual shifting feature more.
|
keep it in a high cog and bathe in all that delicious and maddening torque!!!!!
|
I just bought a 2009 tdi with dsg. After about 400 miles I'm averaging 49 mpg mostly driving above the speed limit. (According to the digital mpg readout). I will calculate actual mpg when I fill it up.

Really old thread
And you can't really run the common rail TDI's on SVO. VW said 5% max bio, though thats being pushed up to 10% with some states mandating more bio. Any more and you get oil dilution and DPF issues. |
