Flat panels inside wheels?

Hi,

I saw this vision of flat panels inside wheels. Panels would fill the underside of the wheel so there still would be little ventilation to brakes from the upper half of the hole...

Rear wheels should be easy job, just welded steel plate to proper place.

Front gets little trickier, because of the turning wheels, but could be done.

What do you think?

This should not hurt much about brakes ventilation?

If you already have flat hubcabs and underside you would get the most benefit of this mod?

That is basically a dust shield. A more aero-friendly DIY version of this should be real simple. You are talking about covering the brakes, these go between the brakes and the wheel, other than that, I think this is the same thing.
Kleen Wheels are dust shields which protect your wheels from brake dust

Yes basically a flat dust shield in a aero friendly place and shape.

My vision was that those panels would not rotate, because still panels are better for aero?. Those would come just as close you can safely put those to wheel arches...

I'd suggest looking back there. On most of my stuff the brakes pretty much fill up the whole backside of the wheels anyway.

Now I have done this mod to rear tires and here is the picture:

I think those help at least little. Still brakes get cold air from the upper side of the inside rim... And you dont need so much cooling if you drive economically...

Mine too. And they already have dust shields that fill up most of the area that isn't filled by calipers and rotors.
