Follow up from previous thread

Hi All

as a follow up from my previous thread http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...elp-17782.html

I have found that filling just below the filler neck provides repeatable results so I have managed to calibrate.

And after following the calibration instructions I now have the following numbers:

new vss pulses = 127708
new microsec =1493884771

My injector delay is still set to 500.

Odd thing is, after calibrating the vss pulses, the mileage still doesnt match my dashboard (which is what I used to provide the odo readings. Not by much though, out by maybe 1.5miles per 100 miles). The very odd thing is the maths on my mpguino doesnt make sense, as per following pic:

I dont see how my tank is currently 23.06 mpg when I have used 1.31 gallons and have done 107.61 miles? Surley thats 82.1mpg

I will get there in the end!

Bump :( My duino cant do maths :(

Im not sure, the version it was shipped with.

How do I go about checking?

dcb 07-06-2011 06:17 AM

when you power it up it should say.

1.75 I think. Im not in front of it at the moment.

Id rather not restart it as it will forget all my tank details :( If I have to though, I will go and do it in 15 minutes :)

dcb 07-06-2011 06:42 AM

where did you get it? Was the code altered?

I got it from:

http://opengauge.org/mpguino/

still running on stock code :)

dunno, that version is quite old. I would write your tank miles and gallons down and bounce it and note the version. Then add the miles and gallons in at next fillup. How are instant and current MPG? It is possible the code got wonky, the bootloader was good at that.

Hmm I will have a go then.

Current MPG seems to be pretty accurate ,indicated around 72 ish on the way to work (a 10 mile journey) this morning.

Instant also seems to be working accurately. heh, Wonkey code doesnt sound good :( Any way to fix?

dcb 07-06-2011 07:11 AM

meh, not critical is it. What does the instant/tank screen show?

alexander.foti 07-06-2011 07:15 AM

Hmm not sure, I will go and have a look when I double check the numbers.

alexander.foti 07-06-2011 09:22 AM

version 0.86. The picture on the first post is the instant/tank screen.

dcb 07-06-2011 09:31 AM

Oh well, that is not the instant/tank screen in the first post, just the tank screen, but let me know if resetting it helps anyway or if there is a discrepancy between the instant/tank and the tank screens.

MPGuino - EcoModder

Oh yes, Sorry, wasnt paying attention.

Before they reset the instant/tank and tank screens matched.

Im going on a long ride tonight so I will keep everybody updated.

On a side note, I sometimes turn my engine off at traffic lights, I notice that even after 2 minutes or so the current trip stats re-set when I restart.

Is there any way to avoid that?

dcb 07-06-2011 09:53 AM

Not sure there, if you left the timeout set to 7 minutes and it is resetting after 2 then it might be a power glitch. Double check your timeout setting in the setup.

It only does it when my kill switch is used, and only reset the current trip the tank info stays, very odd, will duoble check my timeout period.

Right, I sorted the timeout, it was set way to low, becuase I though it was milliseconds :p

After a reset on the power supply, it was showing the correct tank mpg for about 30 miles , then it dropped down to 0.3 and it has been slowly climbing up

Any idea?

alexander.foti 07-23-2011 07:31 AM

Right, it appears as though when I go over about 78 tank miles that the tank mpg resets back to a very low number,

Any idea?

alexander.foti 07-26-2011 07:42 AM

Bump, any ideas?

I cant figure it out :(
