Possibly getting rid of F150

I added up that I've spent nearly $500 a month for gas for the past two years on my F-150 4x4, and I'm thinking its time for a replacement. It's on board computer reports a lifetime fuel economy of 15.3 MPG.

I think a Focus hatchback would be kind of fun.

The Fiesta would be even better than the Focus. The Focus might double your mileage, but the Fiesta could triple it!

True - I looked at the Fiesta, but it didn't have an available in-dash navigation system or MyFord Touch. and I don't think I could have put anyone in the back seat other than a small child.

If you're sure you won't miss the truck, go for the Focus. Or if you'd still have some occasional haulage, why not to wait and take a look at the Transit Connect?

Well - I've never 'needed' the truck's 5 ton towing capacity so I'm thinking I'll come out OK. U-Haul rents trucks if I ever need to move myself, and in the future I might get a Ford Escape. Seems to still get decent MPG and has a trailer hitch.

Also, should I get the hatchback or the sedan?

24 mo x $500 = $12,000... and counting. Was it worth it?

Hey- me old 5.0 is besting the ecoboost by .25 mpg!

Wagon! I am biased and all, but Focus wagons are one of the last small station wagons produced. You don't know you need a wagon until you've had one, then you can't see not having one ha ha

Seems like he wants a brand-new Focus, so no wagon

I wound up getting the Escape instead. I just couldn't handle the idea of not ever being able to tow a trailer again, and I wasn't looking forward to one of our northern Wisconsin winters with 2WD either.

It still gets 22 MPG in the city and was getting between 26 and 29 on the highway depending on how the wind was blowing. I'm looking forward to trying it out in the summer time.

Significant improvement over the F-150 which got between 12-14 in the city and 17-19 on the highway.
