Ford focus hatchback
hi everyone, I am new here posted a few times already, but thought I would introduce myself and my car. I have a 2007 Ford focus zx 5. its an automatic because my wife will not drive manual shift. I'be been lurking for a while, and recently put in a grill block. I think it looks great. it is made from Orange coroplast on my black car, looks gorgeous. I am getting a bit better than EPA even with my winter tires on right now. I have a plan to make wheel skirts. I want to use adhesive vinyl on top or coroplast to make it look like you can still see the wheel skylight they are covered. I am looking for more great ideas and some tips and can't wait to get started. The biggest problem I am having right now is trying to p &g on my very hilly commute to work. I don't think it is a good strategy for my terrain.

i dont know that the focus wheel wells lend themselves to being skirted, i look forward to your results and pics!

Welcome to the site.

P&G works GREAT on hills. Pulse up, glide down. :)

Just be careful not to pulse too hard with the automatic transmission. I'd try to keep that torque converter locked up if at all possible.

thanks, I got my best mpg on my last tank. 7.07 litres per 100 km, down from my average of 7.5 . I am getting the hang of it!
here is my focus and the full grill block. I originally had both upper and lower in orange but I covered the lower with black vinyl

let me know if you can see the photo. it is linked from Facebook.

and just to say a bit about me. I am Canadian living in Nova Scotia, I commute 100km to work 5 days a week, I live in a small apartment with my wife and two Boston terriers on the southern shore of the bay of Fundy!

Hi redorchestra - glad you're having fun.

The grille block looks good. How are you monitoring engine temperatures?

I haven't visited the Fundy side of NS, but have spent lots of time on the south shore and sailed through the Strait of Canso a few times & poked around Cape Breton a bit. Lots of friends in NS - it's my second home!
