Not sure if this was posted or not. Anyway I wouldn't complain if some scooters sized vehicles started getting synergy drives as an alternative. Though I expect the rubber band approach to be the most cost effective for a long time, which is probably 95% of the reason you are on a scooter in the first place... Sigh.

Using an electric motor to get rid of the rubber band and excessive gear ratio those things use would boost their efficiency quite a bit...
