If AI ruins the internet, can EcoModder become a quarterly newsletter that gets delivered in the mail?

When you think about... LOOOOL!
There's hardly been a post in months so, so what if the site's slow.
But this thread about the site being slow is all action!
I know! Everyone's waiting for an election so there's free chloroplast everywhere!?

Do these bots show up in these statistics? How was it that this time last year had the most users?
|
My guess is bots show up in the stats if they're spoofing their user-agent ID's.
Back in the olden days, spikes in guest activity used to indicate that a forum thread had gone viral and was linked to by multiple other sites.

The AI crawlers want to do this, but they do not know when night is in redpoint5's time zone
If only they'd do it during my time zone's night...

The AI can know the time of the servers at least.
This is another problem of the stupid "net neutrality" movement. I've been saying for ages that only morons are for "net neutrality". Why should a bot crawl receive the same priority as a 911 VOIP call? We're not going to discriminate about what data is most important and time sensitive, even though 100% of life involves being discriminate?

Apparently large swathes of Internet are just like Ecomodder. Which comes and goes periodically.
When the site is unavailable, I shall compare with Amazon Web Services. When I search for Ecomodder.com it wants a company name.

AWS is impacting some of our customers, although we officially don't support any of our products being hosted in such environments. People do what they want though.

Best explanation I've seen:
Why the Web was Down - Explained by a Retired Microsoft Engineer
It's complicated. Maybe half goes over my head, but I did learn about control planes.
The summary at the end goes "Fail-over turned into fail over and over and over."

I'll have to take a look. Having never taken a course related to my industry (IT), I'm broadly skilled but have no mastery.
As I said, when AI is presenting problems either intentionally or unintentionally, AI will have to be the solution. Our defense against AI will be AI.
At some point AI will be making decisions in real time that will later be explained to humans who are curious why that action was taken. Requiring humans to figure out the problem and respond is simply too slow.
