My landline has failed* so I'm at the City Library. Everything works as it should.

*Water intrusion at the utility pole drop. The last technician didn't close it properly. A robot issued a service request for 8-5 Thursday but no-one showed up. Yesterday they set another appointment for Monday. We shall see.

Last time this happened, the tech came on the weekend and the phone support was in Colorado. Today no weekend and the support was 'International'.

Centurylink still has a vacant three-story building in downtown Eugene, where I used to be able to pay my bill in cash.

/end rant

Wut?

Now nine days with no phone or Internet. The story now is that the fault is upstream and affects the whole neighborhood. So there must be at least one other customer. Currently supposed to be fixed Monday.

I'm getting a lot done otherwise. Sorted books into keep sell/water/damaged. Walking a lot more. Remembered to take headphones to the library.

Looks like AI will be the death knell for this forum. I miss the discussions we'd have here.

Have look at Endless-SphereA
Same issues except for Neptronix

ie: A good, involved admin implementing the right filters and the sites's fine...

How so? What does AI do to forums?

I was thinking the push of individuals for political measures to make cars more affordable was going to take away this forum's appeal, at least to me.
