Found coroplast for free!

I was considering going to a sign shop and buying a few square feet of corrugated plastic for aero mods, but I figured I'd look around in local big-box store dumpsters first. I planned to look behind Target and Wal-mart for junked plastic advertising displays.

Before I even got a chance to look behind the stores, I found a junked Pepsi advertising display behind a local Philips 66. Part of the Pepsi display is now my Mazda's grill block. :)

Check with convenience stores and beer/soda distributors - they often have leftover/old signs of coroplast that they'll give away.

I take coroplast (and loads of other stuff) from the Tim Hortons trash all the time. Never any big stuff gets trown out, but I've got quite a few 1x1.5' pieces of coroplast and some food advertisements for in my room.

Pictures?!? Don't tell me about it, show me! :D
Did you use the Pepsi logo as an element in the design of the grill block?

I'll snap some pics soon. I just cut the coroplast to the shape of my upper grill and coated it with about 4 coats of black spray paint. I might replace the cardboard lower grill block with coroplast too.

I think the next step will be to take out the rear seats...

Don't mean to dig up such an old thread, but I kindof have an update. Every month, Tim Hortons all over get an advertising package. This means putting up new signs and taking down the old ones.

Each month, each store recieves one or two HUGE signs, (about 4x6? Maybe larger?)

If you can get a hold of your local Tim Hortons you might be able to get the ones they throw out for free! Or in my case, a city ordinance prevents putting up signs that big, so instead of putting them up, I just take them straight home!!!!

Advertising signs get swapped out on the first Sunday of every month. They are scheduled to go up in the late afternoon, but I would contact the store the day before just in-case.

Hope this is helpful to someone!

...election-time produces LOTS of coroplast signs of various sizes too.

...and, by law they have to be removed from public and private property after election day...go "help" them meet the law!
