found new home for Insight
Last night I sold my 2000 Insight to a next-door neighbor's son, Ben.
We'd talked about it at the communities' Easter pot-luck dinner. Rather than put money into the hybrid, I've elected to go BEV, and have been squirreling away a chunk of each month's income for a used EV. Ben has been self-educating on electronics and is confident that he can navigate the Honda IMA. He's going to document the project with a series of You-Tube presentations. He's stoked. I'm relieved. I got the car from a neighbor we lost to ALS. This will keep the car within the 'family.' And the cash from the sale goes directly into the BEV fund, which puts me a little closer to a purchase. A win-win! |
I didn't even realize you had an Insight. Do you still have the Karmann Ghia?
Do you plan on buying new or used? I seen that NADA midbook on my 1971 Superbeetle approximates the purchase price of an Arcimoto FUV minus the Oregon state rebate. I could use the monies from the sale of the Dasher to refresh the engine and replace two fenders. The mechanic I want to do the work isn't returning my phone calls., I think I'll drive out there this afternoon. |

2) Still have Ghia, and it's going too, as well as everything else but the T-100. 3) I mentioned that it will be 'used' EV. |
A closer reading confirms the mention.
I'm hoping to package the 1958 Baja, 5-speed transaxle and stroker 1776 as a single sale, but I think the guy really wants the Superbeetle. That should fetch $3-4K. ....so $2-3K is likely. |
