The best I ever saw was $30 on ebay, but that sale is lonnnnnnnnnng gone. $70 is a decent price. Back in 1997 I paid around $120 for a set from a hubcap shop.

you will have to weigh those and get back to us, most moonies are aluminum instead of stainless steel like those are.

Might pick up a set of these...

4) Stainless Steel Rat Rod HUBCAPS Full Moon Wheel 15" - (eBay.ca item 370198641605 end time 06-Jun-09 21:31:49 EDT)

Stainless Steel, and cheaper shipping to Canada.

I wonder how badly i'd get murdered on the exchange rate...

Nope. Most are stainless steel. I know mine are ... as is the 15" one I found by the side of the road this spring.

Problem is I have 16" rims. :(

Well, I tried to put synthetic tranny fluid in my car, and I stripped the drain bolt on the tranny. And it's made me upset enough that i'm gonna have to get those Moonies from ebay i think.

Maybe I'll weigh one of my Moon discs (I have aluminum) when I get to work tomorrow. I really have no idea what they weigh.

Long ago I bought a motorcycle to take the miles off my (Dad's) precious VW Karmann Ghia (that was the excuse, anyway). One day I tried to change the oil on the motorcycle and cracked the oil pan trying to tighten the drain bolt. Cost $70+ to get a new pan back in 1987 I think. Soooooo, I did the same thing as you.

But, it gets far, far worse. While getting parts for my motorcycle, I totaled my (Dad's) Ghia!!!!!!!!!!!

What are people thoughts on 'real' moonies, with the curved surface vs. racing discs. Is there any difference from an aero perspective?
