Four consecutive 100mpg+ fillups!!! (Yamaha SR185 streamlined motorcycle)
I just filled up the bike today, my longest tank for mileage, 233mi on 2.09gal. that comes to 111mpg and caps a great week for FE on my streamliner.
7/21 108.5mpg- official results for the vetter challenge 7/24 130.2mpg- riding home after my tow vehicle broke down 7/25 117.8mpg- last bit of the ride home, plus to/from work, and car shopping. 8/1 111.5mpg- to/from work, visiting with family, and more car shopping. lots of miles, since I have no car at the moment. I even had to ride to work in the rain one day, and the only thing that got wet was my backside. it seems the rain hits my seatback and a little runs down to the seat. |
Well done!
I never used to let the threat of rain keep me off a bike. That's what towels are for. |
BMW built two concept's, the Simple and Clever, the Simple was a masterpiece, very low drag cd,excellent ergonomics, tilting technology, extremely efficient, high MPG.The engineers that drove it,say it was incredible,as comfortable as a sedan.I don't know all the numbers, but can you imagine driving to California from NY and spending 45.00 in fuel, while enjoying a beautiful view.Build them now, enclosed MC,three wheeler's,the time is right.I'm not waiting I'm building my own.

I'm working on tooling for a universal fairing. it will meet Vetter conditions, and fit almost any bike. should make most 250cc or smaller bikes get over 100mpg at highway speed with corresponding gearing changes.

I've commuted 192 miles by bicycle so far this year, 192/0 = overflow. Yes 111 mpg is amazing little gas used. Too cold to rain here in the winter. I had a cover that zipped up on my human powered streamliner to keep the rain out, it also improved the aerodynamics..
