Free Gas, No Lie-Riots will ensue

I found this link on another forum. Grand Opening=Free gas in bad part of Philly, this means violence probably to come. :(

Anyone on this forum from taht area?
Somebody on that thread said that it would be like Black Friday but 1000x worse. That would be really bad because my cheap *** has camped out for those sales and people get pretty rowdy just over cheaper merchandise, talk about free gas.

If that really is true then some one will end up getting killed there.

^Article showing free gas at LukeOil.

Somebody mentioned that the violence would just raise publicity for the station.

News:"One man killed in violence related to free gas giveaway at LukeOil's grandopening in Philadelphia."

Something like that, you know.

As a former Philly resident, I'll tell you that anyone who values their life won't be anywhere near that station. Sometimes free ends up being too expensive.

Well, let's not have such little confidence in the residents of illadel, a place rather close to my heart, :)

Do they ever fail to disappoint?

Philly aside, a radio station offered 98 free tanks of gas to the first customers at a station in town. The Police had to cut the promotion in half because of the aggressive blockages from both directions. Local traffic came to a halt and arguments ensued. Kept the PD busy for a while until they pulled the plug.

I've been to 'Illy many times (stayed on the Jersey side) -- take it as a compliment that people are "passionate" about their lives. I leave it here: the Eagles' stadium is the only one with with an inhouse jail, in the NFL. I digress..

With work, it took a while to crack into the personalities of the folks I worked with. When I did -- I found truly genuine folks that cared about their work -- I do miss working there. Hard to fly to/from. OK, I'm rambling again...:o
Party on Garth...
