front scoops on aventador and others
ok so u know those big black air scoops on the front of the aventador, what are they for?
the engine including radiators are in the back so could they possibly be scooping air for? if they arent scooping air then what are they doing? http://www.wheelsandmore.de/de/Tunin..._Aventador.jpg this is a link to an aventador from google images i can understand the side scoops behind the doors channeling air in to the engine bay but what possible use could there be for scooping it at the front?!? thanks |

Lamborghini Aventador: the design - Car Body Design
"In the front end we find a trademark design element: the double air openings which provide cool air to the brakes. The other cold air intake is connected to the power steering radiator." |
front ducts
The new Hurac'a'n does the same thing.
It is an all wheel drive,so some of the air may be for front differential cooling as well. http://i1271.photobucket.com/albums/...ntitled410.jpg The new Corvette uses a single inlet duct, then directs the air internally with ducting for the forebody bits. At Cd 0.29 vs Cd 0.36 for the Lambo.,it's a lot better engineering.(maybe not quite as sexy) |
