A decent-looking HX.

I just received notification on this:

I'm selling my 1997 Honda Civic HX Coupe. This has been a great car for me: very reliable, great gas mileage, fun to drive.

174,000 original miles
5 speed manual transmission
Original lightweight Enkei-made wheels
Battery replaced last year
O2 sensor replaced last year
Tires replaced about 2 years/15000 miles ago
A/C compressor replaced last month, so it's super cold
Power door locks & windows

Aftermarket:
Short shift kit
4-1 Headers
Intake
Relay-powered headlights for better voltage

This car has the VTEC-E motor with "lean burn" so if you're easy on the throttle 40mpg highway is yours. It helps that the car is geared high as well - nearly 70mph in 2nd gear.

No Body damage, good interior condition, gets 35mpg as my Daily Driver. The only thing not working is the dome light.

NO TRADES

Clear, notarized title. Cash purchase only.

It has a warm-air intake. Yay?
It is awesome, the KBB is $1,363 in very good condition, but I usually see these going for $3,000-$3,500.
These go quickly, but I just got Bacon running right! Also, Bacon has cruise control!

I miss lean burn. I pine for its magical "here, have some more MPG!" quality.

The dome light doesn't work because of the aftermarket radio. These also came with keyless entry, as long as the stock radio is hooked up.

I get jealous when I see these cars with the original HX wheels. I cannot find a decent set around my area! It's almost to the point where I'm thinking about buying another HX just for the wheels and then selling it!

^ Ha! I actually did that once... bought a VW Rabbit that had GTI rims I wanted, then sold the car after driving it for a few months!

Wait, people buy cars and then sell them later for profit?? Hmmm I should look into this, I have been doing it all wrong apparently! I read an installation guide for this era of civic that showed you how to install an aftermarket stereo but keep the factory one powered on buried in behind the dash, just so the factory keyless would keep working. Man, that looks like a lot of work, I'd just use the key!

It is weird that the dome light and keyless entry require the stock radio. Bacon has a tape deck!

The battery in my remote entry died months ago, I bought a two-pack, the first battery died quickly, and it seemed like the second died almost immediately, but I wonder if it was the original.

I now happily have covered parking at home, but there are four spots without a light. Finding the keyhole by feel is a little annoying and I always worry about my poor coordination leading to paint scratches.

Why don't these cars have cruise control?
