Hi I am selling my 91' metro with only 48000km Car is automatic and has brand-new winter rims and tires. I bought it from the original owner who was a 88 year old lady who never drove the car in the winter. This is its first winter. New alternator and good summer tires on seperate rims.

I like this one because it's an original owner first gen 1987 Firefly!


And it's a bit of a barn find (parked indoors for the last 10 yrs).




Not particularly low kilometers in absolute terms, but extremely low for a 33 year old car @ 148k kms = 92k miles.


But then it's the wrong transmission, of course. As most of these tend to be.

1987 Pontic Firefly 3 cylinder 39 miles per gallon engine runs strong , needs carb adj or replace. body good . front floor pans cut out replaced with riveted steel . Car drove and parked in large dry garage 10 years ago .gas tank religned no leaks.original owner. plated/ insured fire & theft , wanted to work on car when retired yet must remove from present garage.. no place to work on at this time . (add will be removed if i find space to work on car.) $1500 ( car is located in Toronto, at this time) 1 litre Mitubishi engine factory

I like that he doesn't know who made the car. (First gen were made in Japan by Suzuki. After that they were made in Ontario by GM.)

For the first time ever, when I renewed my email alert for Metro/Firefly/Swifts, there is NONE currently for sale within 500 km of me.


I assume that means my horde will be going up in value soon.

I paid off the XFi and put it up on the rack. There's a 3-4ft piece of exhaust pipe spliced in and the middle exhaust hanger is missing. Sticky windshield wiper switch.

Other than that, it's daily driver-able.

I think I'm going to sell the '91 Firefly convertible I snagged years ago but haven't gotten around to repairing (needs floors). The unexpected MPGiata windfall supplanted it anyway.

I'm very happy with the Miata's ~50 MPG, not to mention more entertaining driving characteristics & better prospects of holding value vs. ~65 MPG and less of the other things with the Firefly convertible. Even though the Firefly has less than half the kilometers on it as the Miata (110k km = 68k mi. vs. 230k km)
