fuel use of large mining equipment

as part of my job i sometimes end up with the lovely task of helping out refilling mining equipment i thought i would post fuel use of some of these huge bits of kit as you guys love numbers

cat 785 dumptruck v12 engine burns through 80-100 liters an hour depending on length of run and load type

komatsu ex3000 v16 cummins engines burns through 150-180 liters an hour

komatsu 785 hd v12 engine smaller than a cat 785 burns through 50-80 liters an hour depending on load and run length

cat d10r dozer this one has a huge fuel use span of between 50-120 liters an hour depending on wheather being used to rip or push dirt ripping uses the most matters how much the operator has a nap to ;)

these may seem like huge amounts but the amount of dirt these huge machines move its very good!!

' mining equipment '

For open pit mining in the USA, the actual 'mining' equipment operates on electricity.
