Ram Implosion Wings

These kill me, it dawned on me what is the most troubling thing about these. If it provides a benefit, than it must be generating a thrust.

Since it is in the airstream, no matter how aerodynamic it is, it will be an aerodynamic drag. So not only will the resultant thrust created by this thing have to overcome the drag it creates, it will have to generate additional thrust in order to provide a benefit to the car upon which it's mounted.

Does that make sense? It would need to generate a substantial amount of thrust, and I don't believe it possibly could generate any thrust.

This is the aerodynamic equivalent of an HHO generator.

Website claims are 100-200% fuel mileage improvements.

I'm quite comfortable with calling BS on that The "theory" is complete gibberish "The solution .. to create a vortex out in front of the car", not even worth independent testing IMHO (and some folks added roof racks to hold their creations).

I don't know WHAT the therory is supposed to be, if it is supposed to make thrust, or maybe just seeing it behind you scares you into wanging open the throttle and reducing pumping losses.

There *might* be some cases where a spoiler can help CDA as a band-aid for crummy aero body, but do not expect anything like "...have all seen improved mileage from at least 10-mpg; but most have at least doubled their mileage, and a few of us have achieved 3-x our normal mileage on a limited basis. " Rest assured that is 100% bullcrap.

edit: more overwhelming evidence of solid bullcrap:

"We have a wing on a 78 Lincoln Town Car with a 400 CID engine that is being driven 109 miles round trip daily to work here at Firestone. We tweaked it and are getting 56 mpg out of it at present. The 78 Lincoln Town Car averaged 17.8 mpg before the wing was placed on it."

Yep.
So the first thing such contraption would need to do, is cancel out it's own aero drag.
How ?

Then it'd need to improve the mileage.
Again, how ?

Sure.

Whenever you see this kind of exaggerated claims, rest assured it's a steaming heap of male cattle manure.

All few pics on Google are coming from the inventor's or affiliated sites.
The one genuine tester on peswiki seems to have reduced his mpg.

The troubleshooting guide is a source of giggles though, classic fixes include :

Driving at speeds below 68-mph
FIX: Drive faster

RIW out of adjustment
FIX: Properly Adjust wing

Bad/failing shock absorbers
FIX: Replace bad or failing shock absorbers

Its a little like :

World constantly in conflict
FIX: Implement world peace

In fact it was all I could do to get my foot off of the accelerator and I was just lightly touching it which caused the van to accelerate to an unbelievable speed of 75-mph in a heart beat and it just wanted to keep on going and going!
With that much power i'm sure letting off of the gas pedal wouldn't do that much to help slow you down.

I have experimented with a number of Implosive type reactors ....... implosive turbine wing......an internally ducted wind activated electrically powered implosive ramjet turbine!
- wind activated - sounds like wind powered to me
- electrically powered - apparently some ungodly powerfully motor, drawing it's power out of nowhere
- Ramjet Turbine - Ramjets require considerable forward speed to operate well, and as a class work most efficiently at speeds around Mach 3. This type of jet can operate up to speeds of Mach 6. there is no such thing as a ramjet turbine, it's one or the other. Yes i know the SR-71 had a combination of the 2, but one was built around the other.

We can analogize the DIT2 by comparing it with the demolition of an old building. By selectively placing the explosive charges we can cause the building to collapse inward upon it-self. In like manner the DIT2-technology causes the air to collapse in upon itself and the ensuing vortex chain reaction begins feeding itself.
So, apparently gravity makes the air collapse in on itself
