Gauging interest in diesel engines

I want to gauge or feel for any interest among the forum members for 25hp 2 cyl (v conf) horizontal shaft diesel engines.

The price per unit is near $1000, but may be lower if there is enough interest.

The initial buy will be made out of my own funds, members who wish to purchase one will be purchasing from me, and shipping or pickup will be arranged at the time of purchase.

I believe the units have a 1 year factory warranty.

Now would be the time to ask questions, not when your ready to buy.

IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU'RE GOING TO GET A DECENT DEAL, DON'T ATTEMPT A PURCHASE!

The way this is arranged, I hold the highest potential to take a financial hit, which makes this less dangerous for other members.

That's about the right HP to be useful; I kinda wish it was an inline twin for packaging reasons...

Is it direct injection i.e. no prechamber? Got a spec for grams/kw fuel use (or whatever units)? What's it weigh? Liquid cooled? Etc.

Wouldn't happen to be a Punsun diesel, would it?

Odin 06-06-2011 04:25 PM

are these big enough to have oil filters?

Christ 06-06-2011 05:34 PM

They're Winsun, actually. I believe they have oil filters.

Frank, I'm waiting for an answer back from the mfr about all those questions.

As you know, time is tight for me right now.

$1000 looks like a sweet price, what about shipping?

Depending on interest, shipping is part of that price. It's AROUND $1k per unit.

for what purpose are most looking to use these for ?

Odin 06-07-2011 11:19 PM

the perfect motorcycle engine

Too big for my 2004 Bajaj Chetak, but very cool.

They are IDI engines, and are designed as utility engines. Drives are not included. Details can be found at the link that dcb posted (thanks, Dave).

There are currently no US or North America dealers, and no prospects either... The economy change basically took care of that... :/

I cannot purchase less than 6 units, which will put me out over $5000 initially, not including reshipping to buyers, or import/customs fees. Obviously more units makes the price more appealing. This is kind of a big leap of faith for me. I want to become a US dealer associate to provide these engines and other products to others at affordable prices.

I'm currently waiting for verification on the presence or absence of a factory warranty.

Christ 06-08-2011 08:37 AM

Yes, the units come with a1 year factory warranty.

I'm interested but will not have funds or time for a couple of years until I am out of school. The perfect micro car engine IMO. Good luck and keep us posted.

I could be down for a generator engine.

Chromedome 08-07-2011 07:16 PM

Christ, I would be very interested....
