Looks like a work in progress:

  • It's been converted to 3 wheels. (Is there a California carpool lane exemption for 3-wheelers or something?)
  • Front body looks like it may have been converted to a 1-piece clamshell (note lack of separate hood)
  • It's probably lighter than stock (foam board/fiberglass on the rear body?)
  • It's possibly more aerodynamic than stock, but I'm not certain about that.
  • The decrease in frontal area achieved through greenhouse narrowing is negated (to an unknown extent) by increasing the front fender width to fully enclose the wheels (when steered).
  • I wouldn't want to venture a guess on what the body mods have done to the drag coefficient.

Anybody we know? :)

I'd have to think that Cd would be around .6. Most key elements are without any favorable taper at all, even to the extent of chopping them off at the point of maximum area.

I think you are probably correct, that the reduction in frontal area from chopping off the right half of the cockpit are cancelled by the additional area from the front wheel enclosures.

The third wheel would also add some frontal area.

In all states, 3-wheelers are motorcycles, and in most states, HOV lanes can be used my motorcycles.
