GEO Metro Control arms
Just a heads up to you people with GEOs and the like...
My front driver side lower control arm is starting to fail. (Ball joint is wobbly) Called 3 local shops, and no one can get them. Out of stock, and DISCONTINUED! The local dealership had none in stock, but is still available though the system. At a (local) cost of $530.00cnd EACH! (Plus tax) So just a heads up if your control arms are showing thier age. I managed to find some over ebay for $50us bucks plus shipping. I ordered 4!!! (two left, and two right) I'll corner the local market with these babies!! :D |
I wonder if the control arm from the later years will fit... They made them up to 2000 (or 2001).

Not too sure, but I kinda doubt it.
They have seperate listings for the 89-94 and 95-2000yrs But geez, are they ever ripping us off up here!! |
Could anyone make them from tubular steel? (I don't remember what they look like... but it's worth a look)

Heres what it looks like:
I'd be pretty hard to make one. |
not the easiest things, for sure, but not nearly impossible, either. The two attachment points look to be on one plane w/ the ball joint, so at least the jig could be 2 dimensional.
