geo metro injector
If I understand correctly, the engine control module (ECM) needs to provide a ground to the injector on my 91, 5 spd, Geo Metro.. Tried the ECM and distributer in another car, and both work. The car will run if the injector is grounded to the frame with a test lite, so the injector is working. It just isn't getting a ground from the ECM. Is the problem in the wireing, or are there other possibilities? How can I identify, at the ECM, which wire grounds the injector? Thanks. Gerry

Hello Gerry,
my Suzuki Swift (3cyl, late 80ties, 10GA?) circuit says that ECU pin A2 leads (yellow/black) to injector (0.5 - 1.5 Ohm). +12V is provided by an injection relais which also powers fuel pump (can you listen 1-2s 'zzzzz' when ignition is on?). Note that there is a resistor between the injection relais and the injector to limit the current. Maybe this resistor is broken down (1.9 - 2.1 Ohm). Hope this helps... »Horst |
Thanks for the help ami81. My fuel pump works fine and I do have current to the injector. It is the ground side of the injector where I have the problem. The resistor you mention would not apply to the ground side, would it?
