GEO - What Transmission Oil?

I was on a different Forum (EV's) and the issue came up about what Oil to use in Manual Transmissions to get the Best Millage, and best longevity in transmissions.

A lot of people are using ATF or Mobile-1....

Thoughts?

The Manual transmission in a Geo Metro is MY Target...but obviously the question is general in tone, about a Manual Transmission
