Getting 567 MPGe (three wheel two seat tadpole electric motorcycle)
I designed and built a tadpole configured three wheel two seat electric motorcycle. According to the x-prize calculation based on BTUs it gets 567 MPGe. And that is at an average speed of 23 mph and a max speed of 43 mph in around town driving. It uses lead acid batteries - 48 volts - weighs 480 lbs - and cost less than $5000 to build. It won the UCI Energy Invitational Longest Distance award last May
As I drive around town - it attracts a lot of interest and lots of people want to know where they can buy one. I would like to share my experience with the forum. |
Welcome to the site.
Your project seems very interesting! Please give more info (voltage, controller, batteries) and pictures! :) |
Hi Phil... Is this the WIND? Would definitely like to find out more about the build also!
|
Yes - it is the WIND
Will send links to photos and tech data as soon as I get 10 posts.

Awesome! Saw a few pics of it at Phil Chipman's WIND and was impressed with the simplicity of the build. Though you don't have 10 posts, you can still write out the URL like www. evalbum.com/2311 (space between the 'www' part and the rest)... we'll figger it out from there... :)

Any thoughts of putting fairings on the front wheels? Can you fit any more batteries in? |
