A good OBD2 logger?
 

I got an ELM but the scantool software isn't that good and the logger option doesn't seem to work.

Was wondering what you guys use?

I really need a logger software, driving and looking at a laptop screen isn't the safest thing!:rolleyes:

Best one I have found is obd2007, really nice logging ability. But it costs $70 iirc. It does have a 7 day free trial though.

I know this one, though 70$ is expensive ... there are tons of freeware and free demos (with limitation) out there that seems to do a decent job, so 70$ is not an option (already have a handheld scantool but it's limited).

A friend recommended ProScan and PCMScan, so I'm going to test them later today and see if I can find something else if these don't fit my needs!

I played around with OBDWiz. I think the software is free. As I recall, the logger worked pretty good.

OBDWiz is only free is you bought one of their scan tool!

Same for ProScan ... as for PCMScan you need to buy it if you want the whole logger (the demo only logs the RPMs)

I think Torque for Android is free too. At one point I looked into getting Android to run on Windows. I think it's possible, but I didn't do it.

Just something else to look into.

Found out wOBD ... basic interface (I don't care) with customizable data logging! I'll try that in a few hours! :)

damn ... wOBD is great if your car PIDs are the default ones in the software, or if you know your car PIDs ... I don't know my car PIDs so it's useless!

Next is ScanMaster (free version) and Digimoto Lite.

I believe PID's are universal:

Your car may not use all of them, but if it sends them out they're in the same location.

Then wOBD isn't working well with my OBD2 tool maybe ??? (some ELM327 Chinese knockoff for 15$)
